Soya Potato Rolls

Soybean or soya is a species of legume native to East Asia. It is widely grown for its edible bean, which has numerous uses. It contains a considerable amount of phytic acid, dietary minerals, and B vitamins. On the other hand, potato is a root vegetable. Its importance as a food source and culinary ingredient varies by region and is still changing. Can these both be mixed to make something amazing? Sure, why not. Let’s show you how to make a perfect roll using these two items.

*Ingredients:

-Soya granules(1 cup)

-2 onion

-2 tomatoes

-4 potatoes

-¾ cup grated carrot

-½ cup peas

-½ cup coriander leaves

-2 green chilies

-1 sachet Maggi magic masala

-1 tsp ginger garlic paste

-1 tsp garam masala powder

-1 tsp pepper powder

-3 tsp maida

-1 cup of water

-2 sliced bread(crumbled)

-Salt

*Steps to make Soya Potato Rolls:

-Soak the soya in hot water for 15 minutes. Squeeze out the water and keep aside.

-Heat oil in a kadhai, add onions and saute till golden brown. Add ginger-garlic paste and stir fry until its and then later add tomatoes and saute until they are soft.

-Add soya granules, fry for a minute, then add the carrots, peas, green chilies, salt, and 1 cup of water.

-Cook till vegetables are done, and the mixture is dry.

-Sprinkle garam masala powder, pepper powder, Maggi magic masala(if needed) and mix well.

-Remove from flame and sprinkle the coriander leaves, 1tsp of maida, and mix well. Divide into 6 portions and allow them to cool.

-Mix the rest of the maida in ¼ cup water to make a thin paste. Keep it aside. Mash the boiled potatoes with salt into a smooth mixture, divide the dough into 6 portions.

-Take 1 part of mashed potatoes, make well in the center, and place one soya mixture. Cover soya mixture with mashed potatoes and shape into a roll. Repeat for the rest of the mix.

-Dip each roll in the maida paste and roll in bread crumbs. Heat oil in a non-stick pan and shallow fry the rolls till all sides turn golden brown.

-Serve hot with mint chutney or tomato sauce.
